The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Bo Gyoon) and the Korea Tourism Organization (President Kim Jang-sil) announced the successful winning of the bid to host the 2025 Osteoarthritis Research Society International World Congress (2025 OARSI).
The World Congress, to be held at Songdo ConvensiA, Incheon in April 2025, is the largest meeting in the world among osteoarthritis-related conferences, serving as a global forum inviting 1,500 arthritis academics and industry experts from about 50 countries to exchange the latest information and knowledge in the related field.
As part of efforts to attract the event to Korea, KTO partnered with Dr. Gun-Il Im, current president of OARSI and an active member of Korea MICE Ambassadors for various bidding activities, including supporting visits to Korea for OARSI members, and sending out letters of support. Since 2017, KTO has appointed 11 prominent figures from academic associations and organizations as Korea MICE Ambassadors, those of whom contribute actively to bidding activities in order to invite and attract influential global events to Korea.
Kwon Jong Sool, Executive Director of the Korea MICE Bureau, stated, “Korea is a country with the world’s best human resources, advanced technology and networks in various fields including IT and medicine. We will continue to focus our efforts on attracting events of international scale to invite experts from around the world, and actively promote Korea as a top meetings destination.” close |
