Event Highlights: Korea MICE Expo 2022 Meet the Change, Find the Chance
Photo: Members of Korea’s MICE industry gather at Korea MICE Expo 2022 (Credit: KTO) The Korea MICE Expo (KME 2022), Korea’s largest exhibition for meetings and event professionals, concluded last November 10 at Songdo ConvensiA in Incheon. The event saw positive engagement among approximately 2,157 attendees, including 281 foreign and domestic buyers from 20 countries, 225 suppliers exhibiting for 394 booths, and 3,162 business consultations.
Photo: The KME Exhibition Booths featured ESG-friendly elements (Credit: KTO) Under the theme, Meet the Change, Find the Chance, the event celebrated a return to a fully in-person Korea MICE Expo for the first time in three years, with special focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance). Earlier this year, KTO received the ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management and released the MICE ESG Guideline. The event was held in adherence to this guideline, with implementation of the ‘10 ESG Guidelines for KME 2022 Participants’ and use of sustainable materials for exhibition booths.

Won presented on the topic of ‘How to produce K-contents’, highlighting the competitive edge of Korean contents and its potential for application in the MICE industry.

New this year was the Korea Tourism Organization Presidential Award for Outstanding ESG Performance, awarded to organizations with excellent ESG management performance in 2022.
